Promoting Healthy Relationships..

Here at Triumph Youth Services/Academy we understand when your son enters our program that he might not be very comfortable with the idea. One of our goals is to have our students bond with one another through healthy activities like sports and community service, also holding each other accountable in everyday life. They will begin to support each other and come to realize that their issues are not completely unique. As they live day to day working the phases in the program they will understand that they are not alone, and there are others who can and will support them. Working hard for someone who cannot work for themselves is the kind of service our students are active in. They start to develop feelings of stewardship over others and take pride in being a beneficial member of the community. This is usually very different from how they were spending their time before they came to us. When a young man is living with learning disabilities, behavior problems or substance abuse, life is chaotic at best. We know that when our students begin to engage in a positive peer culture, working side by side and serving others they start to see who they can become..

“Work Hard Play Hard” is a theme we adhere to at Triumph. Our young men are in class focusing on academics everyday while working the phases of their program. They need an outlet, so we encourage them to participate in our team sports like Rugby, basketball and baseball (to name a few). A team atmosphere strengthens the bonds they are building. We also have the students earn activities like horseback riding, fishing and we recently took advantage of our beautiful environment and had a SNOW activity. We feel it is important for the students to have some fun along with all of the hard work they do here. Our team wants the young men to experience healthy relationships with their peers before they go back home. When they leave us they will know how to form new healthy relationships in the future.

It is our hope that some of the bonds they form while in our program will last a lifetime…
