At Triumph Youth Services, Leadership plays a very important role in each youth’s ability to make the changes needed to be successful in Life. This is a part of our philosophy. We believe that teaching Self-Leadership skills will help our students who struggle from a variety of different issues like Oppositional defiance, emotional disturbance and self esteem issues, to list just a few. I have had the privilege to witness this change in literally thousands of young men, they were able to grow and improve because they had been taught Self-Leadership skills. They are also given a safe place to put those skills into practice before going out in the big scary world and taking control of their lives outside our program. Two powerful examples are 1: A timid quiet young man comes out of his shell and stands up for what he believes, he will not fall to the pressures of his peers. 2: A young man who in the past was the ring leader of negative behavior (overcompensating for his hidden low self esteem) becomes a leader to his peers, motivating them to participate in positive activities on a daily basis. These 2 small examples are truly amazing transformations to watch! The changes come from within, we just teach our students how to unlock that potential. These young men Self-Lead themselves into more healthy productive experiences. Building stronger relationships, by becoming better friends, siblings and children to the ones they love.
