Triumph Lifestyle changes lives

Recently we overheard some of our Young men talking to one another. They were saying that Triumph is not just a program, it’s a LIFESTYLE. Triumph lifestyle changes lives…

The innermost purpose and aim of Triumph Youth Services Positive Peer Culture program is to develop self-worth, significance, dignity and responsibility in each of our students as they become committed to the positive values of helping and caring for others. Our goal is always to direct teens away from selfishness and conflict and direct them towards developing a character of concern for, and service to, others.

The following is an excerpt from a message sent to Sterling Lyman, President of Triumph Social Services, from one of our graduates. “Thanks for the help and support you’ve given me. If it wasn’t for the Triumph staff and program I don’t know where I’d be. I have my trials and I make my mistakes but one thing I can say, is you all helped me build my foundation strong because nothing can break me. I haven’t had a blow up at all since I been home. I mean I get mad it’s a human emotion but nothing like before where it’s uncontrollable black rage, Now I manage to find a way to deal with it”

Triumph Youth Services provides a daily Life Skills Group. The goal of our Life Skills Group training program is to teach the student a new set of responses to social situations, as well as how to integrate his behavior with others in the environment. Our staff members are trained and encouraged to be effective leaders by serving as teachers or coaches who hold the young men responsible for working on problems and to act as limit setters and good listeners. This includes consistent group counseling and peer mentoring, which are crucial for helping teens develop problem solving skills, learn to control impulses and anger and change behavior.
