The Value of Working Hard…

Our Students want to work when new learning is involved. They thrive on challenge. When programs offer young men the opportunity to build skills, meet new challenges, and observe the results of their efforts, they instill the value of hard work. Perseverance is learned through practice, by working consistently on one project over many months. As they learn skills, they need adult mentors who 1) support and encourage them, 2) listen, 3) set high expectations, 4) show interest in them as individuals, 5) foster self-decision making, and 6) provide another perspective during problem-solving. We see this in our Retriever Program and in the everyday activities we provide for the Students. Marilyn Price Mitchell PhD.

We believe when our Students look back over weeks and months of working their individual program that they will benefit in many was. Behavior problems start to go away, low self esteem becomes self worth, and making poor choices turns into developing life skills. One of these activities was an obstacle course they supported one another through.

Here at Triumph Youth services we believe that Hard Work pays off and once our students believe that, great transformations can occur…
