Therapy Types

Triumph provides many types of therapy including:

Individual Therapy

Individual Psychotherapy is provided by the student’s primary therapist at least one time each week. These sessions focus on behavioral and treatment issues. They are conducted in a safe and private setting where the student can freely express thoughts and feelings.

Group Therapy

Group Psychotherapy is provided as an integral part of the therapeutic program. Group Psychotherapy is facilitated by a Licensed Clinician at least three times each week. These psychotherapy groups are designed to focus on a variety of therapeutic topics including, substance addictionsubstance abuseemotional disturbance and management, trauma, and communication.

Family Therapy

Family Psychotherapy is provided by the student’s primary therapist at least one time each week. When the student is on the appropriate program level and is showing significant progress with his individual goals/issues and is committed to working with his family as a whole, the family sessions will be implemented. Family Psychotherapy sessions are designed to improve the family unit as a whole. This is accomplished through Functional Family Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

Parent Workshops

Parent training is also available. It focuses specifically on the parents without the student present. Many needs of the parents are explored including but not limited to: adequately coping with a defiant child, family systems and parental management skills.

Quarterly workshops are fully incorporated into the program to help parents with transition planning and rebuilding trust with their son.

Positive Peer Culture

Positive Peer Culture teaches and empowers students to confront negative behaviors, bring proper attention to good behaviors/actions, take accountability and create positive, healthy relationships with appropriate peers.

Staff and peer facilitated groups with topics such as skills development, issues, and feelings are provided on a daily basis through the Positive Peer Culture program. These groups are peer and staff driven and are designed to focus on program issues such as but not limited to: reporting to the group, program training, addressing specific goals, and reviewing program specific curriculum such as Seven Habits for Highly Effective Teens, 16-Steps for Discovery and Empowerment, and the12 steps.

Program and Therapeutic Advancement

In order to advance through the program, each youth must maintain a minimum Behavior Point Average (BPA) similar to a GPA. Exhibiting good behavior, involvement, following the rules, and completing therapeutic and program assignments increases the youth’s BPA. This requires the youth to put what they have learned into action and process the skills necessary for success in and out of the program.

Transition Planning

Triumph is dedicated to helping each youth succeed beyond their time in the group home.  The program is specifically designed for a lifetime of success with extensive transitional, aftercare planning with the youth and parents.

By incorporating other educational groups in the program, Triumph prepares each student with the ability to continue to find resources of support beyond their time with us.  Both on and off campus sessions are provided by professional, organizations and/or volunteers such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), AR, and Boy Scouts of America.
