It is always so good to hear from our past students and families. We would like to share the following update as it reminds us of what is possible with hard work and strong family support. When we think of a complete transformation, this young man is among the top and he is still transforming in the right direction. It also shows just how powerful real pet therapy and companionship is. Today marks a milestone for our family and yours. Two years ago I put my trust in you, and sent my most precious possession to you for treatment. The boy that arrived at your facility, and the young man in the video (linked below) are polar opposites. I almost can’t believe that it is the same person. He was on a path to nowhere and possibly death 2 years ago, and he is thriving today because of you.
I am so happy to share this video with you. It was taken just a few minutes ago when Shane was playing outside with his dogs in the 16” of snow that fell yesterday here in PA. As I was watching them, I thought a quick video would be the perfect vehicle to show how happy he is and how far he has come. He continues to have clean random drug tests and is working hard for our landscaping company. He recently turned 18, and is living the life that I had hoped and dreamed for him.
As you can see Traycer is having the time of his life. That dog is always happy, ready for an adventure, and of course a good fetch! Please share Shane’s success with everyone, and if you feel it is helpful, on your website. I hope it inspires all of you to continue with the amazing work you are doing.
Not only did you help Shane and our family, you have indirectly helped families I know here in our community.
I have talked with and supported many local families that are experiencing the same problems we had. I shared our story with anyone who would listen, and I am happy to say that your message is being shared 2,400 miles away as often as possible. I miss you all, and hope to visit soon.
