Has your teenage son been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?   Is he continuing to struggle in school, have difficulty focusing or exhibiting impulsive behavior? Are your son’s behaviors interfering with his ability achieve success?

ADHD is defined as someone experiencing significant difficulties with inattentiveness or hyperactivity and impulsive behavior or a combination of the two.

Sometimes we hear that ADHD is over-diagnosed or mis-diagnosed and used as a ‘catch-all’ when children are considered “behavior problems.”  If you have doubts about your son’s diagnosis, have him examined by a doctor to rule out other conditions or reasons for his behavior.

ADHD is a long-term, chronic condition. If it is not treated appropriately, ADHD may lead to:

There is no cure for ADHD.  About half of children/adolescents with ADHD will continue to have troublesome symptoms of inattention or impulsivity as adults.

ADHD cannot be ignored.  If your son is having severe problems with ADHD and your current course of treatment is not successful, there is another alternative.  That alternative is residential treatment.  Not all residential treatment centers (RTC) are the same.

Triumph Youth Services offers a small, highly structured family environment for youth. In addition, the small class sizes provide more individual attention to students.  This family-like community promotes a social environment that takes on both therapeutic and healing properties instead of maintaining negative behaviors.

Our staff members are trained to handle issues with ADHD and other special needs students, including those with Individual Education Plans (IEP’s).  They are trained to be effective leaders by serving as teachers or coaches who hold the young men responsible for working on problems and to act as limit setters and good listeners.  This includes consistent group counseling and peer mentoring, which are crucial for helping teens develop problem solving skills, learn to control impulses and anger and change behavior.

The clinical staff consists of trained and licensed therapists that can provide a variety of therapy options.

Contact Triumph Youth Services today for more information on how we can help your son become successful.
