Graduating high school at our Academy..
One of our favorite and most satisfying times at Triumph is the day we can put a diploma in the hand of one of our students. We recently had some of our young men graduate High School while with us. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve completed the phases of their program yet, but it is a vital step in their progress. When a student arrives at Triumph Youth Services he usually has a lot to deal with. Some will have behavior issues, some learning disabilities, others addiction. He will be fully evaluated and then we begin teaching in the way he needs most. We have small classrooms so our students truly get one on one attention with their academics. Since every student is unique they each receive the individual guidance to get them caught up while in a classroom setting. Triumph Academy is a fully accredited High School with a highly trained and caring faculty. Having the high school on site helps the young men acclimate to their new surroundings, without external distractions. When they see that they are caught up on their academics, and often graduating earlier than they would have, it helps to build their confidence. When a young man understands that he is capable and valuable it further motivates him to work the rest of the phases in his program more determined to succeed! For the students who are younger and don’t graduate because they are not yet able to, they leave ahead of the game. When they re-immerse into life back home they will, at the very least be on track and usually ahead. This allows them to have something they can feel pride in when they return to school. Our goal is to help heal our students and give them the life skills it takes to be a happy and productive member of society. The pride we see in the young men on this graduation day is a stark contrast to what we saw when they first came to us.
Needless to say there isn’t a dry eye in the house when the young men in our Triumph Family reach their goals…
