Introduction
Welcome to Week 11 of our *7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens* series. This week, we’re focusing on **Habit 6: Synergize**.
Synergy means creative cooperation—working together to achieve more than we could alone. For troubled teens, this habit opens the door to teamwork, unity, and appreciation of differences.
What Is ‘Synergy’?
Synergy happens when individuals value each other’s strengths and learn from one another. It’s more than just cooperation—it’s collaboration that produces better outcomes than any one person could on their own.
At Triumph Youth Services, we call this ‘Team Triumph’.
Why It Matters for Troubled Teens
Many youth arrive at Triumph with a background of mistrust, isolation, or destructive competition.
Habit 6 teaches them:
– How to work in groups
– How to embrace differences
– How to find strength in unity
– That diversity builds better outcomes
How We Teach This at Triumph
– Structured group projects and sports (like Triumph Rugby)
– Therapy groups that promote shared insight
– Leadership roles that emphasize collaboration over control
– Peer feedback sessions that build respectful discussion skills

What Parents Can Do You can encourage Habit 6 at home by:
– Asking your teen for their input in family decisions
– Assigning tasks that require teamwork
– Celebrating differences in opinions and ideas
– Modeling synergy in your relationships
Conclusion
Habit 6—Synergize—is about creating something *greater than the sum of its parts*. It transforms peer relationships from toxic to transformative.
At Triumph Youth Services, we see synergy every day as teens move from isolation to connection, and from competition to cooperation.
