Parent Support
In our business, working with youth suffering from behavioral disorders and addiction issues, success is much greater when we receive parental support from start to finish. It is extremely hard for parents due to consistent manipulation from their child, guilt, dealing with emotional changes from their sons, etc., etc. The easy thing to do is to make a deal with your son such as “If you do good for six months we will bring you home.” This is the easy thing to do, but it is not the best thing to do. The only thing that works and actually sticks is when you tell your son from the beginning that “you are there until you complete/graduate the program.” Do not give in, do not deviate from the plan/ultimate goal. Be part of the success by taking part in the progression from start to finish and by supporting your son along with the program. This includes the systems of the program from the very beginning to graduation, including the completion of a quality aftercare plan. The following is a recent post on our Facebook page from parents of a Triumph graduate, from start to finish we had their absolute support and their communication with their son was spot on throughout his treatment with Triumph Youth Services. Now they are enjoying their improved relationship with their son while he continues to progress and improve his life. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen for your kind words and endless support. Thank you to all of our wonderful parents.
Message from Parents:
We are truly grateful and blessed to have been able to send our son to Triumph Youth Services. At first our son had a bad attitude, was resentful and was only going through the motions. But as the weeks went on and with every phone call and family counseling session we began to notice big changes in our son. We began having real conversations. We began to reconnect with our son. We could see him becoming more open and honest about himself and his life. He was truly applying the tools he was giving in the book “7 Habits For Highly Effective Youth.” Our family counseling sessions where a huge help in restoring our connection and repairing our relationship. Our son really embraced the whole positive peer culture concept implicated there at Triumph. Our son ended up getting his high school degree there and also completed and graduated the Triumph program. Our son has moved on and is still applying the tools he learned there at Triumph. He is now in a successful trade program working towards his welding degree, among a variety of other trade skills. We feel triumph has an exemplary program. We feel the program is designed to help, motivate and empower these young boys with tools and life skills to become respectful & productive men with goals and purpose. We owe the world to the entire staff and administration at Triumph for saving my son from an unhealthy, regretful path. In turn replacing the negative with positive tools and support to better himself and empowering him to make wiser choices about his life and future. Thank you Triumph from the bottom of Our hearts. We also thank our son for embracing the Triumph concept. Paula & Sam Nielsen
