Anger issues…
As your young man transitions from being a child to an adult, he experiences conflicting emotions and changing hormones. He questions authority, rebels against family rules and struggles with independence. He is trying to figure out who he is and where he fits.
Behaviors such as yelling, screaming, arguing, withdrawal and silence, excessive use of drugs and alcohol, doing poorly in school, disregarding curfew, not eating right, changes in dress, slamming doors, being verbally abusive to parents and siblings and sometimes authority figures and stealing are examples of anger, defiance and disrespect. These types of behaviors become a serious matter when they become a pattern and interrupt the family and the teen’s relationships with others.
Do you feel like your son’s behavior controls your home? Do you wonder when the next outburst or argument will occur with your teenage son? When his behavior becomes more than moodiness or frustration and turns to aggravation, rebellion, disobedience, insulting and offensive, it is time to take action and seek help.
Triumph Youth Services offers a small, highly structured family-type environment for our students. This family-like community promotes a social environment that takes on both therapeutic and healing properties instead of maintaining negative behaviors.
